I was asked to create a logo and a 24 page brochure for the old South Kitsap Mall in Port Orchard, Washington.

Port Orchard is a very tight nit community with a rich history of the people behind the town. The 3 squares in the logo represent the 3 stages of community. 1. Building Relationships 2. Developing Community and 3. Sharing Responsibilities to manage the community. 

I created the logo in Adobe Illustrator and export the files for vector and digital use. We chose to go with the Gotham Bold and Gotham Book. Gotham feels familiar, it has an honest tone that’s assertive but never imposing, friendly but never folksy, confident but never aloof. 

For the colors, we decided on a simple black and white presentation. Black and white logos provide a clear message of authority. The brands that use b&w designs are commanding you to know who they are. Many news outlets and sites who want to be top in their industry use a b&w logo. The simple nature of the black and white logo commands respect. When a bold font is used, you’ll see power and not indecision.

The brochure was created for the investors to present their plans to the businesses and the community. It was originally created to just be used as a digital presentation. But I'm always prepared to hear my clients say "we need a version for print as well." So I created the brochure in a A4 landscape using Adobe InDesign.
