In Aeternam: Interface Design + Compositing
I was responsible for the interface design and animation as well as the compositing for several shots in the short film "In Aeternam". The UI was built and animated in After Effects and then projected on 3D geometry in Nuke. Zoe Lotus assisted me with the design by creating vector assets.
All of the animation was done in advance of shooting so that we could project the finished animations on the actors face.
We built a CG proxy of the glass surface in Maya which allowed us to project the interface in Nuke. This made making changes to the UI substantially easier.
This shot was my most intense composite. The actor's arm had to be lengthend in order for his hand to reach the correct position on the controls.
