Even though some fans like the old one better, I believe that Ajax has one of the prettiest badges in all of football. It's minimalistic enough and it tells the story it needs to tell, so there's no good reason to go overboard on this redesign. All that the club could ever need to it's visual is a slight refresh.
Every line on the mythological hero has been redesigned to make it look still recognizable, but bolder, chosing sharp edges instead of round ones and the same number of lines (11). Meanwhile the font was slightly reproportioned and rearranged to occupy the same lenght on both texts and interact better with both quarter circles.
Finally an outter ring now surrounds the badge, to give it more presence and to isolate elements better in jerseys that could feature stripes, pattern or any other type of bold designs, like the club usually does on the away and alternate kits.
