Babassu is as a sacred plant in Maranhão / Brazil.

"Everything is created it and none of it is thrown away." The wood is used in building houses, while the leaves are used to cover the walls, the doors and windows. Milk and babassu oil extracted from its almonds are used in feeding; coconut shell charcoal is produced. Straw, in turn, is used for the production of handicrafts. From the oil also produces soap.

The origins of my project was inspired by this fascinating plant and importance to a people. Drew the Bowl rubs, geometry and simple texture, as the customs of the central region of Maranhão living because of babassu.
