Lamp is part of a project named Casal Vadio, which consists in a series of cork made objects.
In this particular case the idea was to create something from a pure block of cork.
I thought that sometimes the simplest thing works the best. So instead of carving the block into a shape, I took advantage of the rectangular form and carved a shape (using CNC) inside the block, maintaining the rude look.
