Inspired by the buildings of Downtown Des Moines, I created a typeface depicting the stress of wear and tear. Each letterform was created by smashing, tearing, burning an item that represented common items of the human environment. The pieces were arranged into letters and photographed. I then edited each image to create the final letterform. This typeface was displayed as an installation piece. Oh, and did I mention this all happened in three days?
