Grizzly Bears at Khutzeymateen Sound

Trip to Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary north of Prince Rupert in northern British Columbia. We flew from Calgary to Prince Rupert and on to the sanctuary by catamaran.
Our first grizzly sighting - eating the grass near the shore
A pale blond grizzly digging for clams
Grizzlies come in all colours and sizes
Digging for clams in the sand
Khutzeymateen Sound
A bit of drama over clam digging rights
But they made up quickly
These bears also eat sedge grass
Although we were quite close to shore, none of the bears took much notice of us
Another view of the blond grizzly
As a bonus, we watched a family of humpback whales feeding and diving at the mouth of Work Channel on our way back to Prince Rupert.
Thanks for viewing!
