What is this project?
This project was part of a graphic design class where we were asked to create an ad campaign for a not for profit organisation. I wanted to do a project that focused on buying free range eggs as opposed to buying caged eggs I chose Free range egg and poultry Australia (FREPA) as my not for profit. They are a service that checks on farms regularly and insures the egg farms are keeping to their standards (see at bottom of page) of free range. This allows the egg farms to display the FREPA logo on their packaging.
The Approach
For this project I originally wanted to create something scary or sad showing what its like for chickens in caged eggs. However, I thought the audience would look away and ignore that approach. I wanted to make a fun and happy campaign that would spark a conversation and would be remembered. I then saw an egg pun which gave me the idea to base the campaign on puns.
The Design
I created a fun little character to serve as a mascot for FREPA it also represents the pun that is in the top left corner. Below the character is a fact about how free range eggs are more beneficial then caged eggs. At the bottom is the call to action this says to look for the FREPA logo.
Social media GIFS
Here are three gifs designed for the social media side of the campaign. Give chickens space to eggsercise is about the lack of space chickens have in caged farms. The more room they have to move around to get air and sun the more nutritious the eggs will be. Stay on the sunny side is about being on the good side verses the bad side. It's also about the fact that farm eggs create better sunny side up eggs this is because they are fresher so they stay firm for longer. Caged eggs aren't what they're cracked up to be means they're not as good as some make them out to be. They also last a lot longer than
caged eggs.
