PeriDO

PeriDo is an application which supports women with their cycle.

Our main goal was to create a cycle tracking app which helps women to understand their cycle, feel more comfortable and get synchronised with their own body.

We have created a research plan and we had a few hypothesis:
     - Period is still taboo
     - Women have lack of information about how their body work
     - Women well-being needs more attention

Our work:

1. Empathize

We conducted desk research and interview.
We had 6 interviews with women of the age of 26-35. We had an interview script and we managed to record all interviews for further work.
2. Define

I. Affinity map
Based on the interviews we wanted to sort out and group the main problems.
II. Persona and empathy map
Based on our interviews we managed to create a persona and an empathy map focusing on a main problem (attitude about cycle and period due to lack of knowledge).
3. Ideate

During this phase we have come across with some radical ideas which could be a solution to the women's period. (left side)
After all we came up with real solutions to the problem. We decided to concentrate and go along with three ideas.
- Create a mobile app that helps women to feel comfortable during their cycle
- Have a community where they feel comfortable
- Educate women to accept how their body works and and to self-examination.
4. Wireframe

First we worked on the main page, an after we created the flows.
5. Usability test

We conducted usability test to check whether the flows are clear for the users.
6.User Interface design
7. Presentation
7. Summary

We created an app where - besides logging your period - it requires you to perform self assessment as well, like checking body temperature, to help you predict your ovulation and next period.

Logging all the symptoms you notice can help you understand your cycle. After the app has enough data, it will give personalised advices to make you feel more comfortable with your period.

You will also have an opportunity to book an appointment to a personal trainer or group training. Based on where you are in your cycle, the app will suggest you what kind of workout would help your well-being. The trainer would also see in the app how is your cycle, so she/he would be able to create you a personalised training plan.
