GROOVE는 사용자가 올려두는 물건의 무게에 따라 다양하게 변형되는 재미를 볼 수 있는 테이블입니다. 유연하게 늘어나면서도 텐션감이 있고 구김이 적은 원단을 소재로 제작하였습니다. 기존의 딱딱하고 평평한 테이블에서 벗어나 좀 더 자유로운 분위기를 담아내고자 고안하였습니다.
GROOVE is a table which can watch various variations depending on the weight of the object the users put on. I created it with crease-resistant fabric that stretches flexibly and has tension. I wanted to break the frame of existing hard and flat table, so it was designed to show more flexible form of the table.

일반적인 테이블에서는 물건을 올려두기에 적절하지 않았던 형태인 곡률을 가진 프레임을 제작하여 패브릭만이 줄 수 있는 무드를 제공합니다.
I created a frame with curvature, which was not proper to put the objects on typical tables, so that I offered a mood only being given by the fabric.
원단이 스스로 고정 될 수 있는 깊이감을 계산하여 파트를 분리 할 수 있게 하였고 이는 사용자가 원하는 컬러의 원단을 쉽게 끼우고 빼도록 돕습니다.
또한 전체적인 무게에 따른 패브릭의 변화가 잘 드러나게 하기 위해 넓은 형태로 디자인하였습니다.
I calculated the depth at which the fabric can be fixed by itself so that the parts can be separated, and it helps the users easily put and remove the desired colors of the fabric. I designed in in a wide shape so that it shows the changes of the fabric well in accordance with the overall weight.
Choose the Space
GROOVE는 원단을 사용한 공간 뿐만 아니라 철판을 소재로 한 두 번째 공간을 제공하고 있습니다. 이는 부드럽고 자율적인 형태의 원단과 무겁고 딱딱한 철판
두 가지의 재료가 대비되도록 하여, 이로 인해 사용자가 물건을 둘 때 ‘어디에 둘까?’하는 재미있는 고민을 하도록 유도합니다.
GROOVE offers not only a space using fabric but also a second space using material of iron plate. It brings interesting concerns “where to put it?” when users place it by contrasting two materials, soft and flexible-shaped fabric and hard steel plate.
