This is UNREAL ENGINE 5 | Forest in a Bottle Redux

3D Art
A series of indoor terrarium cinematic scenes that served as my test bench and demo project for Unreal Engine 5 - from Early Access 2021 all the way to the current full release build (as of the posting of this video - 5.02). Here I tested out new features like Nanite and Lumen, as well as trying out different workflows for water, rain and fluids in UE5.
I thought I'd compile some of my faviourite shots from these past few months, as well as go back and re-touch and re-render some of those scenes that were done in Early Access 1 & 2 - as of course, a lot of features in the EA builds of Unreal 5 were buggy or outright broken. (For instance, in the UE5 EA, Lumen didn't properly work with foliage or any translucent material etc...)
The Early Access scenes were rendered out on a Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB, while the rest of the more up-to-date shots were done on an Nvidia RTX 3060 6GB graphics card using deferred rendering with the Movie Render Queue.
It's been a blast working with Unreal Engine 5 so far - it's really done a lot to empower small teams and single artists as a creative force multiplier. I can't wait to see where this technology takes the film and game industry!
