This was a conceptual project for an architecture class: the goal was to design a wall of [ ], and the blank was filled with a randomly chosen word. I was to design a Wall of Time.
This 'wall' is a public installation which also becomes a bench for pedestrians. The wavy contour symbolizes the flowing, ungraspable nature of time.
At the same time, the live tree planted inside the wall (Cherry Blossom) will grow, bloom, blossom, wither, then bloom again as seasons change. This will be a slower indicator of real 'time' to those who are in constant contact with this wall.
