Footwear from
the Future Past
__
Personal project I've worked on whilst learning Blender and 3D Modelling in general. I've always struggled with finding the footwear that I could wear comfortably. Shoes keep you grounded, give balance and stability. This has made them the perfect subject for this project.

I've started by looking at the references of vintage, hand-crafted pairs, mainly noting the shapes, proportions and styles of footwear roughly from the 15th century to the 20th. Shoes then were handmade, unique pairs crafted for the individual.
Only then, I've decided to create wild futuristic explorations, inspired by the hyper-pop aesthetics.

From the technical standpoint, materials and shapes were my main focus.  All of the materials were created procedurally, granting me more control and the ability to create textures that didn't look too familiar.
