Snail - Personal Urban Transportation

Industrial Design
"Snail" is a single-wheel motorized electric vehicle designed for the indoor and outdoor urban environment.

Snail features a single hubless wheel design, a folding mechanism for transport and storage, integrated front and rear lighting for safety and night-time visibility, an adjustable handlebar and a retractable parking jack.
The vehicle is driven standing up and controlled by leaning forwards and backwards.

Anthropometric considerations have been made in the design process to ensure the vehicle is suited for the vast majority of potential riders (>95%).

In terms of feasibility; this concept builds onto the currently produced Segway and Solowheel, filling the void for riders that prefer a narrower, more maneuverable platform than a Segway, with the added stability and confidence of the handlebar missing from the Solowheel. All that, without skimping on style and aesthetics.
