GAM 305 Virus Game

Artifact Name: Virus Game
Artifact Description: The idea behind this game was that you play as a humanized version of an immune system white blood cell and you are going through the body to kill viruses that are invading.
Tools used: Unreal Engine 4
Highlighted Skills: I personally only worked on making code for taking and receiving damage, the green virus that fires projectiles at the player and creates copies of itself, as well as an extra "Boss" level that was added as part of my additions for this class.
How would you describe the process of creating and polishing this artifact?
This was originally a team project for my GAM 305 class. This was the first project I worked on with a team. To add to this project for this current class I added an extra level with a "boss" virus which is basically just the green replicating and projectile firing enemy as in the original level, but larger and has more hit points, also it does not reproduce, but has normal green viruses surrounding it acting as guards.

What did you learn as you were creating it and improving it?
I learned a lot about working with a team on a project like this. Especially learned a lot more about how to work with git with a team project.

What challenges did you face?
In terms of creating the artifact itself there were not that many challenges. The one I can think of is when creating the green virus enemy the clones would not stop firing projectiles at the player even after the player left the line of sight of the cloned virus despite the clone being a literal clone of the original green virus, using the same blueprints, code, and AI controller as the original virus. I am still not sure about why that is, or what I should do to fix that issue.

How was the artifact improved?
The artifact was improved by adding a Boss level to the game instead of the game just having a single level.
