About
Founded by Arc’teryx in 2009, Veilance focuses on navigating and responding to urban environments based on the advanced materials and manufacturing systems of Arc’teryx, located in the Canadian Coast Mountain wilderness. Veilance applies minimalist values to their climate-proof products and engineered the modular apparel system of essential forms. Under creative director Taka Kasuga, Veilance’s functionality and aesthetic meets endless innovation and puts no limits on their design.
2009년 아크테릭스가 설립한 베일런스는 캐나다 웨스트코스트산맥에 본사를 둔 아크테릭스의 가장 앞선 소재와 제조기술로 도시속의 일상과 환경을 탐색하고 대응하는 것에 중점을 두었습니다. 어떤 기후에서도 완벽하게 대응 가능한 의류들은 베일런스의 미니멀적 가치관과 결합하여 가장 본질적인 형태를 가진 모듈식 의복 시스템으로 설계되었습니다. 크리에이티브 디렉터 타카 가스가의 지휘 아래 기능성과 심미성을 겸비한 베일런스는 끊임없는 혁신을 바탕으로 디자인에 한계를 두지않습니다.
The Construct
Stones withstand any harsh weathers. Stones are used as decorative elements in the interaction design, and the updated color palette evokes cold days, reassuring the brand’s identity;‘a system of essential forms designed for navigating and responding to urban environments. Inspired by ‘veiling’ and ‘silence’ which Veilance stands for, the overlapping elements were appropriately placed on the UI designs to make sure the Veilance’s products stand out.
돌은 어떠한 날씨도 강인하게 견딥니다. 돌과 추운 계절을 모티브로 한 컬러시스템과 장식적인 요소들로 ‘어떤 도심의 기후에도 대응 가능한 미니멀한 모듈 의복’ 이라는 브랜드 콘셉트를 직관적으로 드러내었습니다. ‘고요한,가려진'이라는 뜻을 담은 브랜드 네이밍에서 영감을 받아 미니멀하지만 겹치는 요소들을 더해 전체적으로 브랜드의 제품이 돋보이는 UI 디자인을 진행하였습니다.
