MPO Interim & Annual Reports

Throughout the years, &Larry has been commissioned to design Macau Property Opportunities Fund (MPO)'s interim and annual reports. MPO is a unique property fund that invests and develops properties specifically in Macau and the surrounding, rapidly gentrifying region of Zhuhai and the Pearl River Delta.
2013

The overarching concept for MPO’s 2013 interim and annual reports – themed A Distinct Horizon and An Unwavering Course – features a strong Macanese emphasis on the area’s unique geography and maritime history.

Partly inspired by Chinese typographical pictograms of Macau’s traditional names, the concept visually expresses and connotes images of water 水 (representing wealth, life), mountain 山 (symbolising health, vantage point) and day 日 (reflecting hope, promise) through illustrations, photos and information graphics.

The use of cobalt blue as a key colour is a deliberate East-meets-West touch as the hue pays tribute to both Portuguese and Ming Dynasty art.
2015

For our third iteration of Macau Property Opportunities Fund’s (MPO) set of interim and annual reports, we took inspiration from English painter George Chinnery’s drawings of Macau – a vivid depiction of the landscape of the Pearl River Delta in the 1800s – and Frank Gehry’s meandering and free-form sketches. Likening the fund’s astute vision to that of artists’, the concept pays tribute to MPO’s foresight and strategic focus on Macau.

The reports showcase a series of sketches drawn on-location in Macau by renowned Malaysian artist, Ch’ng Kiah Kiean. As a foil to the stark graphite tones, we employed soft bursts of pastel blotches, typographic swashes and stylistic ligatures for added vibrancy and intrigue.
2016-17

Inspired by the location of MPO properties, a concept was developed based on topographic contours to give investors a clear picture of the lay of the land.
