Born in the middle of Havana, Jungla aims to conquer the concrete solitude of the city’s urbanism with a nature approach. Composed of three growing stages, this is a special project for us, as it embraces the concept of uniting natural order and man-made design. Conceptualized as a socialization space with a tropical environment, Jungle redefines the notion of a “bar” by carrying a hybrid DNA of two worlds where nature-focused design meets personal pleasure. Evolving since 2019, every time a new idea came to life, the volume of nature/plants also grew with them, inspiring further the sight and sensorial cues of the space.
the seed
Adapted from a space previously conceived as housing, the first stage pays homage to the concept of the “home”, characterized by its naive nature with a touch of colourful blends. With wood as its predominant character, it carries the rustic architectural cell to its most original state, where minimalism reigns and comfort is key.
the root
As ideas grow and the architectural ethos adjusts, a new unconditioned space brings the task of rethinking / restructuring the idea of Jungla Lounge. With this (r)evolution, the second stage shifts to a hybrid structure featuring social + co-working areas under one roof made up of glass windows, a cafe-like environment and cocktail bar.
the growth
Mixing the elements from the first two phases, the third stage refines its structure to a more lounge-like design with a heavier nature-focused aesthetic. With warm-lighting, wood-centric furniture, and its signature abundant greenery, the space invites the naked eye to perceive tranquility, and breathes life into the urban jungle.
