Au creux des ombres (within shadows) is a short 3d clip speaking about what grows in darkness.
I wanted to work with bioluminscence for a while, so this project was the perfect time to test it.
I mainly worked with C4D, Houdini & Octane render.

The growth of mushrooms and their modeling were made proceduraly in Houdini.
I then exported an alembic file and scattered them in Cinema4D using Octane scatter.
The spread of the moss was made thanks to Nick Medukha's awesome Patreon:
I used a combination of L-systems alembics and a fire spread node.
I then rendered them as hair in Cinema 4D.
