Jaarbeurs Utrecht asked IN10 to come up with a new style and name for Infosecurity, the largest IT event of the Netherlands. The event however wants to be more than just IT so we needed to develop a style and a name that speaks to a broader audience. We came up with the abbreviation TBX which stands Tech, Business and Accelerate - basically what the event is all about. We chose the typeface Trim Poster by Letters from Sweden. The Trim Poster typeface is characterised, as the name already implies, by trimmed letter forms. These trimmed letterforms form also the basis of the TBX visual language. This visual language came to life through programming and in the end I created a generative program that outputs these trimmed graphics as stills or in motion.
