As an exercise in lateral thinking; this project began with a task to create a zine that explored interesting signs and spaces across the Greater Toronto Area. After choosing a space and sign, began a rigorous typographic research project which led to analysis of property investment in downtown Toronto. This led to the discovery of an over production of condo units in Toronto where 40% of the demand is made by investors. This leads to a theory that there is a wall of inventory going up that may not be able to sell. This led to the development of the concept of “Investors Union.” The union would standardize the way property investing is done in Toronto, provide services and resources for investors and regulate the way investments are made in Toronto.
