Blair Construction approached me with the intentions of designing a brochure for their company that helps explain the capabiltiies of their faciltiies. The company, based out of the small city of Auburn, New York, has had big impacts beyond the cities limits. For example, Blair welded the spires that were eventually assembled atop the new World Trade Center in New York City. It was important that their brochure made an aesthetic impression on their readers, but also fully informed them of their capabilities.
Coming up with a color scheme for the magazine was easy; as the company was based out of Central New York. I met with the owners and their office was covered with Syracuse Basketball memorabilia so the blue and orange was understood to work. Often times, brochures are associated with a 3-fold format, but I thought for the displayed information, a 2-fold was much more appropriate.
