Pragya Mishra's profile

50 Years of NID Book

The Government of India set up the National Institute of Design(NID) in 1961 as an autonomous institution for research, service and training in Design and Visual, on the basis of ‘The India Report’ prepared by Charles and Ray Eames. Over the last fifty two years, NID has become India’s premier design institute and the epicentre of the profession in the country.

I was a part of a four member team working on the design and layout of a book, documenting the history of the institute. With a rich pool of photographs, sketches, quotes and stories the book tries to capture the spirit of the institute and the people who shaped it. The book has 6 chapters and more than 400 pages and comes in a bag designed for it.
