This was an my submission for an assignment for my university application. The assignment was to do a work of art of any medium with the theme of “Contrast”. While thinking of the theme of contrast I immediately thought of the idea of a contrast of emotions (eg. bipolar). I also did sketches and ideas while exploring the theme. I had ideas of contrast in life and death, colour contrast, alive and rot and others. I went ahead with the concept of emotions and drew a woman who seems to be internally confused and distressed with a mix of emotions. I went with a more semi-realistic style to try and broaden my digital art skills as I’m more used to doing simplistic illustrations. This submission was a good way for me to explore my creative thinking and expanding my skill set in digital drawing.
