FAVO Lampshade
'Divisione Collection'
The lampshade is manufactured using a single laser cutting process. The lightweight assembly come flat packed in the post and is easily assembled at home following the instructional video on YouTube (unofuori channel hyperlink) . Each of the precision laser cut profiles are spaced with multi-functioning vertical supports, which double as both the Favo’s structural support and it’s seamless attachment to any standard light fitting. It contains no fixtures and is made from high grade poplar plywood, which comes untreated straight from the timber yard.

Having the untreated wood and burn marks from laser cutting, gives the Favo Lampshade a story to tell in a home, where its manufacture and material sourcing are clearly reflected in the finished good. A subtle mix between raw materials and processes vs. clearly defined design aesthetic.

'Favo' comes from the Italian word, meaning honeycomb, which is suitably literal of the lampshades resemblance to a beehive. The Favo uses the simplicity of repeating profiles to create its form and an aesthetic of symmetrical simplicity. In keeping with the 'Divisione Collection' the Favo uses a repeating profile to create its form.  The lampshade is an ever-changing object, you gain a different perspective on the angle of the lampshades profiles, depending on your position in relation to it.

The Favo lampshade is part of the 'Divisione Collection' and is currently on Kickstarter where the public can pledge money for a reduced cost first edition of the lampshade.
