Burn/Out

Burn/Out is a collective performance piece which entailed public screaming of women at different locations in Belgrade, first location was the monument of Stefan Nemanja, second the City hall, and the third was Faculty of Fine Arts. The performance was on surface very raw in expression, but behind this primordial display of emotion, there was an art statement whose strength and directness points out to an alarming issue we are collectively facing. An issue which places the responsibility on the individual, not the circumstances which actually cause people to burnout, that are a reflection of the socio - political structures we are living in, which the three locations represented. Above all, the performance represented an arena for an open discourse about the issue and a release of the pent up tension and anxiety for the individual, instead of further burnout.

Burn/Out
