Toy Design

SENIOR THESIS
PARSONS SCHOOL OF DESIGN

For my final project as a student, I wanted to create something FUN. The deep interest I have in designer toys was a major influence. A toy in itself didnt seem enough though, it felt done and not as special as I had hoped. Keeping the idea in mind, while discussing my project, it occurred to me: what if they were eadable? I see a lot of designer toys out there that pretend to be food, disguise themselves as burgers, ketchup, candy etc...So why not make it of actual food? My original toy designs represented a blend between sea creatures and sugary treats such as ice cream and donuts. Making the toys in real food made this project a lot more exciting and challenging.

I made these character out of fondant, rice krispies, chocolate, cookie icing mix, sprinkles, food coloring, sugar,
they are all EDIBLE
