Vernacular Typography I

The assignment was to work with an alphabet from an Indian script. The language I chose was Gujarati which is my mother tongue. The aim was to understand and appreciate the forms and the unique characteristics of the script.

After the alphabet, we move on to work with a word from the chosen Indian language. The word I chose was ‘Relamchel’ in Gujarati which means abundance or overflow. The concept of my postcards stems from the way the word sounds.
