Egyptian Slate Pro is a slab serif typeface designed by Rod Mcdonald in 2008 and publcished by Monotype. Mcdonald created a 12 font Slate family inspired by his research into legibility of type. I designed the specimen inspired by the block-like nature of the letter forms. I felt a tactile wine box style specimen with coloured blocks inside them showcasing the letter forms, would engage well and create a fun way of showing the typeface.
