By exploring concepts attached to a single word–”choice”–this poster series attempts to expose the various issues involved with a factory farming system centered around profit motive. This project involved creating a three dimensional typographic sculpture, photographing it in different settings, and integrating copy to create a poster series that is conceptually and visually unified.
To get this image, I had to surreptitiously reinsert my typographic sculpture into the meat aisle. I think this calls attention to the voicelessness of the animal; the repetitious and consistent presentation of packaged meat makes it easy to forget that the meat was a living being before it was made into a product.
That nice. marbled meat, which fetches the highest quality grade and therefor the greatest market price, is the result of feeding animals an unhealthy and unnatural high-fat diet and injecting the meat with non nutritional substances. This is bad news for the animals, but also creates serious health risks for meat consumers.
You'd be amazed what your ingesting when you eat meat.
