GrC 301 Project #4: Patterning + Bracketing
All of these photos were taken at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo campus, during a 2-day timespan. Each uses bracketing at +2, 0, and -2 exposure.
All Masks: This is me wearing every reusable mask that I have and want to show off each pattern as a form of emphasis, while also wearing a striped shirt and standing in front of a white wall.
Balcony: A quick little peek at the view outside of my apartment, while backed by a sunset.
Action Couch: A little figurine from my desk backed by my weirdly-patterned couch. It's just a white object standing out, but it isn't the focus.
Chalk Sketch: After a block party between my apartment complexes, I took some pictures of the chalk drawings on the ground. With all the chaos around it, I thought this pattern looked the most complete.
Flowery Mousepad: My desk and wardrobe had all sorts of patterns to look through. My mousepad had a great floral pattern with a black mouse to spark some color in the photo.
Peace Tea: Snooping around in my roommate's room, I found his collection of cans and loved their designs, so why not shoot them back-to-back with a little perspective.
Reading a Sketchbook: I wanted to use one of my Funko! Pop figures in conjunction with a sketchbook an intern made during the winter quarter. The warped, melting smiley faces seemed perfect for a lighting contrast.
Silo Seating: Near the business side of SLO, there's a building called the Silo, where the seating all slopes down into the center with a great view of every chair.
Plaid Socks: While sitting in the Black Box, a theatre practice room at Cal Poly SLO, I saw my socks and thought, "Why not give this charcoal space a slight color boost?"
Striped Robe: After looking around for good patterns, I walked into my closet and found my robe, which stood out in the right way. Slumping it across my chair just felt like a solid shot for this kind of project.
