Smart Fox Bookmarks

Smart Fox bookmarks
A series of 3 bookmarks which also function as postcards. They tell a humorous story of a smart fox (who is an avid reader) and three dumb dachshounds who are out to get him. Each bookmark continues the story and prompt the reader to read as much as three books simultaneously. The illustrations are inspired by medieval era woodcut illustrations and symbolism. The fox represents a monk, which also reflects on the early history of books and their making.
Do you know the struggle of constantly not having enough bookmarks? And instead end up using receipts, postcards or even sheets of toilet paper? That's why I came up with the idea to make a series, which makes them handy for people who like parallel reading.

The sketches were made in Procreate and then realized in Illustrator.

Here's the meaning of the latin texts:
1) Greetings to the reader! 2) Art is long, life is short. 3) The written word endures.

I'm pretty happy to have won a silver medal at the iJungle awards 2021 with this project.
