After more than a year since the beginning of our collaboration, leaving behind a bunch of sketches and drafts, we are pleased to present a series of powerful artworks.

 

Each of the four artworks is an organic combination of illustration and calligraphy. The foundation of each drawing is the thought about the contrast between past and  present, between Medieval Rus’ and Russia, between traditional culture and modernity. For calligraphy parts of arts we used texts from songs with a bias toward russian folk.
