Stage, costume and puppet design - The Village Rogue

Photos of the theatre performance of István Örkény's The Village Rogue, directed by Dániel Szilvási. I was the stage, costume and puppet designer of the performance. Our intention was to create a visual world which resembles the Hungarian villages but certain elements of it are comical, absurd or simply do not fit in their otherwise normal environment. We chose the colours in the same way: the colour and texture of wood is quite village-like, the blue rooftop and clothes, however, are very different from the traditional use of colours in the aforementioned villages.
One of the main parts is the house, which can be turned around in the beginning of the second part of the play, showing its burnt, ruined form, expressing the slow decay people in the village experience during the story.
