Aplo (formerly SheeldMarket) is an EU-licensed broker offering professional investors a way into digital assets for the first time. In amongst the scams and subterfuge that plague the cryptocurrency space, they saw an opportunity for a trusted player. So, we partnered with them to develop a new name, identity and personality that married credibility and sophistication with the allure of new opportunities.

FROM SHEELDMARKET TO APLO
The new name (which means ‘simple’ in Greek) reflects a more straightforward, focussed expression of the value the brand offers: providing investors with access to a universe of fresh opportunity. This is reflected in the new logo, too. Inspired by offset reflections, it hints at the idea of two connected worlds

SOPHISTICATION AND ADVENTURE
The visual identity is designed with an inherent sense of duality that speaks to both the old investment world and the new, to both sophistication and adventure. It’s evident in the type pairings, the balance of a monochrome palette with shimmering gradient, and in the graphic elements of the brand.




STEP THROUGH, AND EXPLORE…
At the heart of Aplo’s brand is the idea that they provide unrivalled access to the crypto universe, and that is brought to life throughout their identity with the visual metaphor of a portal. Most prominently, we worked with the 3D artist Doma Harkai to produce a hero image that visualises the portal itself in a nondescript land, surrounded by mysterious objects.
