About The Project
This project explores the phenomenon of casting and moulding in product manufacturing and culinary applications. It reimagines what constitutes a mould in traditional kueh-making process.

'Xiang' means auspicious in Chinese. Xiang Kueh is a re-conceptualisation of Steamed Kueh Lapis that is inspired by how it is consumed, layer by layer. Embedded with messages, each layer of Xiang Kueh reveals something different for joyous occasions.

The layers are embedded with auspicious blessings such as ''福寿安康 " and ''步步高升" which means longevity and continuous advancement in life.

The Moulding Kit
The moulding kit for Xiang Kueh comes in two parts- food grade stencils and an airbrush for the inking technique, as well as a wave-pattern cutter for the final form of the kueh.
