Through this project we were expected to create products that were innovatie, sustainable, inexpensive and feasable, exploring new techniques and keeping in mind the look and feel of Fabindia.
So i explored the technique of rust dyeing on the traditional kora cotton kasavu fabric of Kerala.
Rusted Kasavu
Exploring and experimenting with the traditional textile of Kerala, the delicate, transluscent kora cotton fabric striped with gold zari(kasavu) and rust dyeing to create interesting, contemporary and versatile fabric for the home. This technique is inexpensive, easy and retains the look and feel of Fabindia.
Ideal uses: For curtains, fabrics for lighting.
