Arbio- A Virtual Art Gallery App

The product
This app is a common platform to all artists across the globe to showcase their art and sell the same. This is a virtual art gallery for all the artists. The app targets mainly those customers who doesn’t have the feasibility to go to an art gallery due to their conditions or location but not limited to and targets all the art lovers who wants to know more about the art/artist.
The problem
Art lovers who cannot access an art gallery need a way to explore art and artists

The goal
By creating a mobile app that allows not only to learn about art/artist but also they can have their favourite art purchased from anywhere.
Role
My role in this project is a 'Generalist' work. Starting with conducting interviews, paper and digital wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping, conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility, and iterating on designs.
~Understanding the User~
User research
I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand the users and their needs. A primary user group identified through research
was between the age 20-50.
This user group confirmed initial assumptions about the app, but research
also revealed that the information about the art/artist should be provided clearly to understand the work carried out.
Personas
Based on the interviews/workshop we set up two personas. We referred to them throughout the entire product development process.
User Journey
I mapped out the users’ steps to see how I could simplify their journey to help them reach their most important goals with the product.

~Starting the Design~
Wireframes
As the initial design phase continued, I made sure to base screen designs on feedback and findings from the user research.
Different section provides the information related to the artist and the art in a detailed way.
The navigation at the bottom of every screen provides the easy access to various user needs.
Digital Wireframes
Low-fidelity prototype
Using the digital wireframes,  a low-fidelity prototype is created. The primary user flow is to go for art/artist info and then order that art, so the prototype could be used in a usability study.
Usability study
I conducted two rounds of usability studies. Findings from the first study helped guide the designs from wireframes to mockups. The second study used a high-fidelity prototype and revealed what aspects of the mockups needed refining.
~Refining the Design~
Mockups
Early designs allowed for some customization,
but after the usability studies, I revised the design so users can have the clear visualization of where to start.

~Going forward~
What I learnt from this?
When I started exploring about a career change I had no idea where to start. When I did some research I found UX design as an important and interesting area where I can have my creative knowledge applied. At the initial stages I have a fear of whether I can do it or not. But, with different learnings, thoughts and ideas, it is more enjoying and fun. My initial idea of creating an app for a particular task is limited. But, when I gone through different processes I got to know what really has to do. Keeping myself in user perspective many iterations done and the work carried out is enjoying and challenging.
