Over the summer of 2013, I worked as a personal assistant & freelance designer in the GQ Art Department. In my time there, both August and September issues were in the works. The September issue, pictured below, was a special issue largely devoted to football. There was some discussion of modifying the logo for this special issue. It would be the first time the logo had been changed in 11 years. I offered up the solution of turning the overlap into a football. Working under designer Jason Stefko, I worked through rounds of ideation & iterations until we reached the final design. Jason executed the front covers, including all typesetting & a color correction which matched the red of the G with that in the images.
