14 Hands Winery recently opened a new winery in the eastern Washington town of Prosser.
To acknowledge the ranching and agricultural roots of this region the new tasting room includes design features that incorporate weathered barnwood sourced from local farms and ranches.
Context will be added with a display of photographs of barns the wood is sourced from and
portraits of their owners along with narrative captions detailing their history in the region.
14 Hands Winery commissioned me to work along side their video crew to capture the essence
of these people, their land and their history. For three days last fall we traveled the
backroads of Horse Heaven Hills and the Yakima Valley photographing six properties and their owners.
What a great assignment it was.
