The Canadian Mental Health Association BC (CMHA-BC) Division has convened a long-standing, province-wide Community of Practice - a group of people who share the common goal of promoting campus mental health and reducing risky substance use. Their belief is that wellness on campus is everyone’s business so the community includes students, faculty, campus professionals, administrators, government, researchers and community members.
archiTEXT worked with the CMHA-BC team to facilitate a full-day working session during the 5th Annual Healthy Minds/Healthy Campuses. Using a combination of Design Thinking and Systems Thinking processes, archiTEXT led 200 participants through a day of visioning and strategizing in five action areas - Situational Assessment, Engagement & Planning, Campus Policies, Learning Environments, Community Connectedness, Belonging & Inclusion and Services & Supports. Community members were able to share their experiences, discuss strategies, share resources and creatively develop new ideas.
