Clumber Park Winery (2009)

This project explored the potential for developing small scale wineries in suitable locations around the UK. This particular example is situated in Clumber Park, Nottinghamshire with the surrounding land planted as a vineyard. The building was intended to facilitate small scale production of wine and provide space for visitors to taste the products.

The building was designed in a linear fashion in order with the wine making process; its translucent appearance is to allow visual connections between the interior and exterior spaces. The building is clad in a corten mesh that mimics the pattern of brickwork as a nod to the park's heritage, this mesh also acts as a moving screen that can increase or reduce the amount of light entering the building.
