The Last Duel
Art inspired by the trial by combat between Jacques Le Gris and Jean de Carrouges. Those coats of arms are (apparently) their real armorial achievements. They both use what is called "canting arms": when what is depicted "says" the name of its owner. For Le Gris, a grey shield (Argent). For Carrouges a red shield (Gules).

The crests (the pieces above the helms) are made up, though. I just choose two figures that looked very traditional but, at same time, weird.
