About my project:

“Det finns ingen som vet vad det är” is a project where I through painting and drawing speak about a state of sickness and recovery. The project is dealing with being struck by a hypothetical post-viral-sickness the medical science and practitioners know little about. It is despair but also a story of progression and meeting the world again for the first time. I have explored how to convert volatile memories into images catching the mood and sense of being sick from a post-viral illness with the aim to  create recognition. I highlight the theme to the public to be understood explicite as a portrayal of a patient and universally the necessity to persist in hope. 

I am expressionistic, focusing to convey the inner experience where images can have an abstract connection with the theme.

About me:

Gunilla Hasselrot Eriksson is an artist driven by curiosity exploring  different techniques, materials and colors within the field of painting, drawing and graphics. She was first planted in the region of Västerbotten in the north of Sweden, The base for many years is Trondheim. During 20 years of computer based architectural practice the zeal  to use manual skills has been channelized into art. 2018 was a starting point for her to focus on improving her artistic language and take the interest in visual expression seriously.
