Eight large formats
Eight drawing, five in 80 x 120 cm and two in 70 x 100 cm. I used the same technique for all

This technique is inspired by the scratchboard, rhodoids plastic sheets covered with black paint on one side, and on the other with white paint. The black part is scratched to make the white appear.

But there is an important difference with these drawings :

To be able to make large format , I have changed the material. I didn't find rhodoids sheets as large as I want, so I take and experiment my technique with filter sheets from theater lights. Buy in large roll of thin LEE filter, perfect for my use, but with a downside : Very fragile, sensitive to bends, twists and acid products. I can't scratch hard without the risk of piercing the filter.
I had to adapt my technique for this support, changing metal tools to wood ones and learn how the material reacts. The traces of my experimentation are visible in the drawings, the textures are dirtier, the general aspect looks more damaged and many have scars.
