Using Your Safety Deposit Box

The Bloo Lagoon Village is an amazing collection of module villas perched on the cliffs above the town of Padang Bai, on the east coast of Bali.  Although it's run like a resort, owners Tony and Marita's vision is to develop a living, collaborating community, focused on sustainability, where every visitor can feel like a member.

In the spirit of this community, I produced this visual guide to address a minor, but time consuming, operational problem the village was experiencing.

Staff were constantly having to assist guests with the setup and use of the villas' safety deposit boxes.  As we lay by the pool, we'd watch as new guests arrived then, soon after, the village staff heading in the same direction with a ring of safety deposit box master keys.

The problem I found, was with the existing text based set up instructions.  They were too brief in a few areas and didn't alert guests to several points during the process that could result in the box becoming locked with no way of opening it again.  Even I locked myself out of it on the first day.  They needed a visual approach but more than that, they needed a full process review.

A few snapshots later, some layout time in Adobe Indesign (back by the pool ;) ) and hopefully this will help fix the problem!
