Corruption Arc; Chad Character Exploration
After Effects as a program has always been really intimidating to approach, but I wanted to so badly at least start attempting. I used this pre-existing audio from Instagram as initiative to get started. I really love the freedom that reels let you have. Chad is a character from a story in the works who goes through a rough storyline. There's three stages depicted in his life; childhood, teenage years, and finally adulthood.
After working on this I started to develop a better understanding of movement, timing and how to read the tools in After Effects. Because of the time limit with the audio I wanted to make what had detail show what didn't stand out. Making the portrait ratio backgrounds was really fun. I had to keep them very legible, especially since they were each seen for barely more than 3 seconds.
