T E M A Z C A L
Esta obra esta inspirada en el ritual sagrado del temascalli o temazcal, ritual ancestral empleado en la medicina tradicional y la cotidianidad de los pueblos del centro de México, con fines higiénicos, rituales, terapéuticos y espirituales. En sí, el temazcal representa la tierra, la diosa que nos sustenta y nos da la vida, cuando la persona se introduce en él, se dice que esta entrando en el vientre de la madre tierra y por eso tiene forma de domo con pequeñas dimensiones representando el vientre materno.
This work is inspired by the sacred ritual of temascalli or temazcal, an ancestral ritual used in traditional medicine and daily life of the peoples of central Mexico, for hygienic, ritual, therapeutic and spiritual purposes.
In itself, the temazcal represents the earth, the goddess who sustains us and gives us life, when the person enters it, it is said that he is entering the womb of mother earth and that is why it has a dome shape with small dimensions representing the womb.
