As stated on the website Wikipedia, "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon or Bacon's Law is a parlor game where players challenge each other to arbitrarily choose an actor and then connect them to another actor via a film that both actors have appeared in together, repeating this process to try to find the shortest path that ultimately leads to prolific American actor Kevin Bacon."

The Wikireader is inspired by the game Seven Degrees of Kevin Bacon. In less than three clicks one topic is connected to another via wikipedia. Since Wikipedia is a large source for information, the results are endless. Much like the endlessness of Wikipedia, so was the design freedom for my classmates and I in our Publication Design class at York College of Pennsylvania. The requirements were that each Wikireader topic had to be in three clicks or less, and the content had to fit a total of three tabloid sheets of paper (8.5 in x 11in). Taking a more direct approach, I experimented with the layout of paragraphs, hand drawn illustrations, torn paper textures, and hand lettering; resulting in Of Man and Machine.
