Another semi-musical project, I recently did the packaging design for Liverpool-based band Familiar Looknig Strangers' new album 'Love Hate and Heartbreak'.

 

All they had in terms of a conept was the blood-splattered heart (an original image provided by Daniel Pincent), which they wanted to feature on the cover. But other than that they were happy for me to put together the packaging however I wanted.

 

I took inspiration for the front and back cover theme of a painting hanging in a gallery from the Leftfield album Leftism, which I'm a big fan of, and built up the design by photographing an old picture frame from my parents house to use as a template.

 

The inner gatefold is a great shot of them performing at a festival over in the states, and the CD itself is intended to look like a classic vinyl LP.
